Cajonito/en
At the end of 2008, a smaller variant of the cajón, the cajonito, was bought to complement the acoustic set. This time it was not custom-built, but selected from Schlagwerk's range. The cajonito works on much the same principle as its larger sibling and can rest on the lap, held between the legs, or be held between arm and body. This allows the cajón and cajonito to be played together. That matters because the cajonito produces a more authentic bongo sound than the cajón. It was first used at Club Royal in EXIL, Chemnitz. For ease of transport, nothing beats it — unless you limit yourself to playing only shakers.
